God's Nature
Trinity
The foundational Christian doctrine that God eternally exists as three co-equal, co-eternal persons in one divine essence. The Trinity is not three Gods, nor is it one God wearing three masks. It is one God in three persons, each fully God, each distinct, yet perfectly united.
Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
God's Nature
Holiness
The absolute moral purity and separateness of God. Holiness is the attribute that should anchor every sermon series. If the congregation does not understand that God is holy, they will not understand why the cross was necessary, why sin matters, or why transformation is the goal.
Isaiah 6:3 "Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory."
Core Theology
Justification
The act of God declaring a sinner righteous — not because of what they have done, but because of what Christ has done. Justification is a legal term: the verdict has been rendered, and the believer stands acquitted before heaven's court.
Romans 5:1 "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
Core Theology
Sanctification
The ongoing process by which the Holy Spirit shapes a believer into the likeness of Christ. Unlike justification, which is a one-time declaration, sanctification is a lifelong journey — not a destination but a direction.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless."
Holy Spirit
Fruit of the Spirit
The nine character qualities produced in the believer's life by the indwelling Holy Spirit — love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. These are not achievements; they are the overflow of a Spirit-surrendered life.
Galatians 5:22–23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance."
Biblical Covenants
Covenant (Definition & Nature)
A binding, sacred agreement initiated by God with His people. Unlike a contract — which is based on mutual performance — a covenant is relational and enduring. God's covenants are not based on our faithfulness but on His. A covenant is God saying "I will" before you ever say "I do."
Jeremiah 31:33 "I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."
Christ
Resurrection
The bodily rising of Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day. The Resurrection is not a metaphor for hope — it is a historical event on which the entire Christian faith rests. It is the foundation under every sermon. If Christ is not raised, nothing else in the Bible matters.
1 Corinthians 15:17 "And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins."
Core Theology
Redemption
The act of being bought back from bondage. In Scripture, redemption carries the weight of a price paid — Christ's blood as the ransom for souls held captive by sin. To be redeemed is to be reclaimed by the One who made you.
Ephesians 1:7 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace."
Old Testament
The Tabernacle
The portable dwelling place of God among His people during the wilderness journey. Every element of the Tabernacle — the outer court, the Holy Place, the Most Holy Place — is a picture of Christ. A pastor who understands the Tabernacle can preach Christ from every element...
Eschatology
The Second Coming of Christ
The promised, visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth. The Collective's posture on this topic is unambiguous: "Live ready, not scared." Date-setting and sensationalism have done immense damage to the church's credibility and the believer's peace...
